Job Title: Cabinet Maker                    FLSA: Non-exempt

 

Reports to: Owner of Custom Design Wood Products            

 

Summary

The cabinet maker is responsible for parts, cutting, and assembling. This position also provides back-up to other cabinet makers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities that management deems necessary from time to time.

  1. Operate CNC equipment

  2. Cutting

  3. Machining parts

  4. Helping with deliveries of cabinets

  5. All other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the requisite knowledge, skill, and/or ability.

Education and/or Experience

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a High School diploma.

  • Up to 1 year of general shop experience (preferred but not required)

  • Requires a general knowledge of reading measuring devices

  • Requires effective oral communication skills in interacting with employees

  • Requires basic knowledge for use of hand tools

  • Requires attention to detail and accuracy skills
     

Physical Demands

While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is occasionally required to reach above shoulders. The employee will regularly stand, walk, talk and listen, and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is frequently required to move from place to place and use hands.

The employee will occasionally be required to lift up to 50 - 100 pounds.

 

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The employee works in a shop environment and will be exposed to dust and loud noises. Hearing and breathing protection is provided if necessary.
